Kulgam : Police on Monday said that it has arrested three alleged drug peddlers and also recovered charas and cannabis-like substances during intensified checking operations in Kulgam and Shopian districts.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that in Kulgam, Police Post Mir Bazar intercepted a scooty (JK03Q-4003) at Chidhama and recovered 21 grams of charas-like substance, arresting the rider, Sahil Ahmad Wani, S/O Javid Ahmad Wani, R/O Devalgam, Kokernag. In Shopian, Police Station Keller intercepted a Tata Sumo (JK22-3033) at Keller market, recovering 154 grams of charas powder from the driver, Mohd Yousuf Chopan, S/O Gh. Mohd Chopan, R/O Keller Bongam, and registered a case under FIR No. 96/2026. In another action, Police Post Keegam apprehended Gh. Mohd Mochi, S/O Rustum Mochi, R/O Audoora Rampthri, at Audoora Rampathri with 2.55 kg of crushed cannabis-like substance, and also registered a case under FIR No. 199/2026 at Police Station Shopian.
