Srinagar : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the National Conference-led Jammu and Kashmir government, alleging that open merit students are being denied justice due to the delay in releasing the reservation policy report. Speaking during a protest at the PDP headquarters in Srinagar, she pointed out that despite assurances to publish the findings within six months, the report remains undisclosed. She highlighted discrepancies in recruitment, pointing to the Deputy Superintendent of Police selection list, and accused the administration of favoring outsourcing over genuine employment creation while systematically marginalizing local youth.
Highlighting the plight of economically disadvantaged families and aspirants affected by recent policy shifts—such as reduced age limits and capped exam attempts—Iltija demanded immediate action on unresolved issues affecting medical interns and NHM employees. She clarified that her critique was focused on accountability rather than opposition to any community, urging the state leadership to fulfill its long-pending promises. Demonstrating solidarity with the protesters, she declared, “My purpose is to remind the Jammu and Kashmir government that you made a very big promise to these students and the youth of Jammu and Kashmir — that you would present this report,” while firmly asserting, “We are here to remind Omar Abdullah that you have to deliver justice to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.”
