Jammu, Sept. 19:Several delegations and prominent representatives Saturday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and discussed initiatives related to women empowerment, entrepreneurship, spiritual and cultural events, religious tourism and connectivity.
A delegation of FICCI FLO J&K and Ladakh, led by Chairperson Ms Varsha Bansal and Senior Vice Chairperson Ms Rupika Sahai, briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the organisation’s upcoming activities and initiatives aimed at promoting women empowerment and entrepreneurship.
Swami HridayanandGiri Ji Maharaj also called on the Lieutenant Governor and briefed him about the upcoming Amba Yagya, scheduled to be held from February 6 to 15, 2027, at Tawi River Front, Jammu. The event will feature 51 HavanKunds across 10 Mahavidya forms, participation of 11,000 women in the Kalash Yatra, 9 crore Navarna Mantra Jaap, 9 lakh Deepak Prajwalan, Shrimad Devi Bhagwat Katha, Kanya Pujan, SuhaganPujan, BatukPujan and daily cultural programmes. The Lieutenant Governor assured support and cooperation for the successful conduct of the spiritual gathering.
Rajesh Gupta, President, VHP J&K, and Shakti Dutt Sharma, Vice President, VHP J&K, were also present during the interaction.
Meanwhile, a delegation comprising Pawan Kumar Shastri, President, Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, Jammu/Haridwar; Raj Kumar Gupta, President, Jammu Kashmir Gau-Raksha Samiti; Anil Gupta, Senior Vice President, Jammu Chamber of Commerce; and social worker Raman Gupta also called on the Lieutenant Governor.
The delegation raised the demand for strengthening direct rail connectivity between Jammu and Uttarakhand and discussed other matters related to promotion of religious tourism in the region.
