Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has attached a residential house constructed on land measuring 1065 sq. ft. (Khasra/Survey No. 1327) in village Melhura, valued at ₹16,56,385, belonging to one Farooq Ahmad Shah, adopted son of Ghulam Hassan Shah. Additionally, cash amounting to ₹4,73,500 was seized and frozen.
In a statement issued here on Friday said that the residential property and cash were identified as having been acquired through proceeds generated from the illegal trade of drugs and narcotics. The property and cash were attached and frozen under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 58/2024 of Police Station Zainapora.
The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of a police team, Executive Magistrate, Lambardar, and Chowkidar to ensure compliance with legal procedures and maintain transparency. In its statement Police reiterated its firm commitment to eradicate the drug menace by targeting financial assets linked to illicit activities and appealed people to share inputs about regarding drug trafficking.
