Srinagar | Sept, 18: A team of IFFCO J&K, led by the State Marketing Manager (SMM), IFFCO J&K Dr D.K Singh , paid a courtesy visit to the Directorate of Extension, SKUAST Kashmir, and held a constructive interaction with Dr. Rihana Habib Kanth, Director Extension, SKUAST Kashmir, Dr. Rajvir Singh, DDG, ATARI, and the Heads of all KVKs of the Kashmir Division.
The IFFCO J&K team included Field Officers Mr. Malik Mehraj and Mr. Mashooq Ahmad Rah, who were also present during the interaction.
The meeting focused on balanced fertilizer management, judicious and efficient use of fertilizers, and promotion of alternative and innovative agricultural products aimed at improving nutrient-use efficiency and reducing the excessive use of chemical fertilizers.
During the interaction, the IFFCO team lead by Dr. D .K Singh highlighted its innovative products, including Nano Urea, Nano DAP and other alternative agricultural inputs, and discussed their potential role in promoting sustainable agriculture and efficient nutrient management.
The participants held a healthy and fruitful discussion on soil-test-based fertilizer application, balanced nutrient management, farmer awareness, field demonstrations and strengthening coordination between KVKs, research and extension institutions and IFFCO.
The importance of creating greater awareness among farmers regarding balanced and judicious fertilizer use was emphasized, with a focus on improving soil health, enhancing nutrient-use efficiency and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
The interaction provided an opportunity for the participating institutions to exchange technical views and explore possibilities for greater collaboration in farmer-oriented extension activities, field demonstrations and dissemination of modern agricultural technologies across Kashmir.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with emphasis on continued technical cooperation, knowledge sharing and coordinated extension efforts for the benefit of the farming community of Kashmir.
