Udhampur :The Department of Agriculture Udhampur organized a one-day farmers’ training-cum-exposure visit to SKUAST-Jammu under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme – Agricultural Technology Management Agency (CSS-ATMA). The programme aimed to provide farmers with practical exposure to modern agricultural technologies, scientific farming practices and innovative techniques.

The exposure visit was flagged off by MLA Udhampur West Pawan Kumar Gupta and MLA Udhampur East Ranbir Singh Pathania, in presence of Chief Agriculture Officer Vikas Padha. The programme was attended by the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO), Agriculture Department officials and field staff, who coordinated and facilitated the participation of farmers in the exposure visit.

Speaking on the occasion, the legislators highlighted the importance of such farmer-oriented programmes in enhancing technical knowledge and promoting the adoption of modern agricultural practices at the grassroots level. They encouraged the participating farmers to make maximum use of the knowledge and expertise gained during the visit.

During the visit to Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu, the farmers interacted with scientists, subject matter specialists and agricultural experts. They gained first-hand knowledge about modern crop production techniques, improved varieties, scientific farm management, integrated farming practices, sustainable agriculture and other innovative techniques relevant to field-level farming.
