Srinagar | September 16: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar on Wednesday chaired a security review meeting at PCR Srinagar to assess the prevailing security situation and review the preparedness of police functionaries across the Central Kashmir Range.
The meeting was attended by DIG CKR Srinagar, SSsP of Srinagar, Budgam, and Ganderbal, SSP PCR Kashmir, SO to IGP Kashmir, SsP of Srinagar and Budgam, all SDPOs, and other senior police officers. The participating officers briefed IGP Kashmir on the security situation in their respective areas and apprised him of the security grid put in place to maintain peace and public order. Sujit Kumar reviewed the operational readiness across the range and stressed the need to enhance counter-insurgency operations, area domination, intensify naka checking at vulnerable locations, and strengthen surveillance along inter-district borders.
He directed officers to ensure security arrangements remain dynamic and responsive, emphasizing regular assessments and timely strengthening of deployments. The meeting concluded with instructions to maintain round-the-clock vigilance and ensure close coordination among field formations to sustain a peaceful environment.
