Anantnag : Police on Wednesday said that it has booked a drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that the accused, identified as Khursheed Ahmad Rather S/O Gul Mohd Rather R/O Waghama, Bijbehara, is a habitual offender involved in illicit drug trafficking. Given his continued involvement in drug offenses, the competent authority issued a formal detention order to prevent further trafficking activities. Following the execution of the order, Rather was lodged in District Jail, Bhaderwah. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to take strict action against repeat offenders to build a drug-free society.
