Srinagar : The Kilo Force conducted a community outreach programme for the Gujjar and Bakkarwal community at Sultanpur Kandi in Bandibala on September 15, focusing on education, skill development, welfare schemes and engagement with local residents.
The programme was attended by more than 200 people from Bandibala and adjoining areas, according to the Ministry of Defence.
As part of the outreach, solar lights were distributed to residents living in dhoks to support children in pursuing their studies. Awareness sessions were also held on government welfare schemes related to healthcare, education and social welfare.
The Army also interacted with local youth, elders and community leaders on issues concerning education, skill development, career opportunities and local needs.
The outreach programme provided a platform for interaction between Army personnel and residents, with the organisers stating that the initiative was aimed at strengthening civil-military relations and encouraging community participation in nation-building activities.
The Army said such initiatives form part of its community outreach efforts alongside its operational responsibilities, with a focus on welfare and engagement with local communities.
