Srinagar | September, 14: National Health Mission (NHM) employees in Jammu and Kashmir have extended their ongoing strike by an additional 72 hours starting September 15, as their agitation entered its sixth day. Witnesses said the strike has strained healthcare delivery, placing added pressure on regular hospital staff.
Protesters are demanding pay parity with NHM workers in other states, job security, regularisation policies, and social security benefits like EPF and insurance. Representatives reaffirmed their readiness for dialogue, urging the government to provide a concrete roadmap rather than verbal assurances.
