4 Drug Peddlers Arrested, Contraband Substances Also Recovered : Police

Shopian, Anantnag, Sopore : Police on Monday  said it has arrested four drug peddlers across Shopian, Anantnag, and Sopore districts besides recovering contraband substances from their possession.

In a statement issued here on Monday said that police parties in Shopian intercepted two individuals during routine naka checkings—one at Kiloora Crossing carrying approximately 1.210 grams of a heroin-like substance, identified as Murshid Ahmad Malik of Krawoora Imamsahib, and another at Babapora Zainapora crossing with 18 grams of a charas-like substance, identified as Muneeb Ahmad Thoker of Beibagh Yaripora Kulgam.

In Anantnag, a police team at Bypass Library intercepted a motorcyclist identified as Jahangir Yaqoob of Hanji Dantar, recovering 4.30 grams of charas. Meanwhile, in Sopore, police intercepted a truck (JK05H-4164) at Amargarh Crossing driven by Jahangir Ahmad Dar of Patoosa, Rafiabad, recovering 240 Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus capsules and ₹47,000 in cash. Cases under relevant NDPS Act provisions have been registered at the respective police stations, and further investigations are underway to trace wider network linkages.
