Srinagar| September 12: Police on Saturday said that it has solved a theft case within 12 hours of registration and also arrested two accused besides recovering stolen steel from an under-construction National Highway camp site at Rengi in Baramulla district.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that the case under FIR No. 213/2026 under Section 303(2) of the BNS) was registered on September 11, 2026, following a written complaint by S&P Infrastructure Developers regarding the theft of 10 bundles of steel. Acting on credible inputs police apprehended Farooq Ahmad Mir, S?O Habibullah Mir, R/O Wanigam Bala. During questioning, the accused admitted to his involvement along with accomplice Ghulam Hassan Dar, S/O Ghulam Nabi Dar, R?O Tawheed Bagh, Sopore. Both accused were booked, and the stolen property was recovered based on their disclosure. A pickup vehicle (JK20B-9556) used in the crime was also seized.
