Srinagar | Sept. 12: The Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP-HEW Srinagar, through the office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Khanyar, organised an Anemia Health Camp in Zone Boud Dal, Srinagar, with the objective of promoting awareness and early detection of anemia among the community.
A dedicated health team from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Srinagar’s office visited the camp and conducted anemia screening tests among the beneficiaries. The health team also provided necessary medicines to those requiring treatment, on the spot.
During the camp, participants were sensitised about the causes, symptoms and preventive measures related to anemia. Special emphasis was laid on maintaining a nutritious and balanced diet, consuming iron-rich foods and undertaking regular health check-ups for timely detection and management of anemia.
The initiative reflects the Department of Social Welfare’s continued efforts to strengthen community-level health and nutrition interventions and improve the overall well-being of women and children in the district.
Officials From SANKALP-HEW Srinagar, along with the health team, actively participated in the camp and extended necessary guidance and support to the beneficiaries.
