Pahalgam| September, 11: General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma on Friday affirmed that the Army remains dedicated to nation-building while ensuring peace and stability across Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at an Army Goodwill School (AGS) function in South Kashmir, the Army Commander highlighted the military’s ongoing mission to support local development and student aspirations.
“As we march towards Viksit Bharat, Northern Command will continue to remain committed to nation-building while ensuring peace and tranquillity,” Lt Gen Sharma said. “Our commitment is towards the people of J&K. Your peace is our purpose, your aspirations are our missions, and your success is our pride.” Encouraging students to remain focused despite challenges, he added, “Irrespective of the place, irrespective of the environment, continue to work hard. A time will come when you will prove yourself.”
The event marked ten years of partnership between Army Goodwill Schools and the Bharti Airtel Foundation, which has now expanded across 43 institutions in J&K and Ladakh to enhance technology-enabled learning and academic leadership. Bharti Airtel Foundation Co-Chairman Rakesh Bharti Mittal announced extended support for another decade, covering smart classes, sports coaching, and scholarships. Regional President AWWA, Northern Command, Shinei Sharma, also emphasized the importance of girl-child education for an inclusive society.
