MeT Advises Farmers To Continue Harvesting
Srinagar | September, 11: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience mainly dry weather over the next 10 days, though brief spells of rain and thundershowers are expected at isolated and scattered places, officials said on Friday. According to the Meteorological Centre, the weather across the Union Territory will remain generally dry on September 12 and 13, with a possibility of brief rain at isolated places.
From September 14 to 16, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are likely at scattered places, particularly during the early morning and forenoon hours. Dry conditions are expected to return from September 17 to 21. In an advisory, the weather department advised farmers to continue harvesting apples, paddy, and carrying out other agricultural activities.
Meanwhile, temperatures remained above normal across several locations. Srinagar recorded a maximum of 33.2°C (5°C above normal) and a minimum of 16.4°C. Qazigund registered 30.2°C, Pahalgam 27.8°C, Kupwara 32.9°C, Kokernag 30.6°C, and Gulmarg 24°C. Jammu recorded a maximum of 34.3°C (1.4°C above normal) and a minimum of 25.4°C. Other areas including Banihal, Batote, Katra, and Bhaderwah also recorded above-normal day temperatures, with no significant rainfall reported in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM on Friday.
