Ramban :: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Friday conducted an extensive inspection of the ongoing works under the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) Four-Laning Project between Ramban and Banihal, reviewing the progress of key viaducts, tunnels and other critical infrastructure components.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SSP Arun Gupta, SSP Traffic NHW Raja Adil Hamid, Project Director NHAI Shubham Yadav, SDM Ramsoo Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah, SDM Mohammad NaseebBajran and other concerned officers.

The team reviewed the ongoing construction works at Digdol, Panthyal, Magerkote, Ramsoo, Nachilana, Gangru and KishtwariPather, taking on-site feedback regarding the pace of execution, traffic management and other issues pertaining to smooth progress of the prestigious national project.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Project Director NHAI and executing agencies to expedite the pace of work on all ongoing components and ensure coordinated efforts for timely completion of the vital NH-44 infrastructure. He stressed the need for close monitoring of works at critical locations and prompt resolution of bottlenecks to maintain momentum on the project.

Keeping in view the ongoing seasonal movement of nomadic livestock and the Fruit trucks, along with the expected increase in vehicular traffic, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned agencies to focus on road maintenance for the convenience of commuters, transporters and fruit-laden vehicles and others.

At Gangru, the Deputy Commissioner specifically directed the construction agencies to clear and properly maintain the road shoulder to facilitate double-carriageway movement.

The Deputy Commissioner also called for effective inter-agency coordination among NHAI, traffic police and executing agencies to ensure seamless traffic regulation, road safety and uninterrupted movement of vehicles during the ongoing construction works.
