Srinagar| Sept, 10: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone Sujit Kumar, accompanied by DIG South Kashmir Range Javed Iqbal Mattoo, visited the twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian to comprehensively assess the prevailing security landscape, crime mitigation efforts, and general law and order scenario. During high-level review meetings attended by respective SSPs and jurisdictional gazetted officers, field commanders presented detailed briefings on counter-insurgency grids, anti-terror operations, and proactive strategies to uphold public peace.
Underscoring operational preparedness, Sujit Kumar emphasized the imperative need for robust, proactive intelligence gathering, close inter-agency coordination, and swift, decisive responses to neutralize emerging security challenges. Directing field formations to sustain pressure on terrorist ecosystems, the IGP instructed officers to maintain zero tolerance against inimical elements attempting to disturb peace and public order. As part of his comprehensive tour, the Kashmir police chief also inspected the rural Sub-Division D.H. Pora in Kulgam, holding an interactive session with local supervisory officers, Station House Officers, and jawans of the Special Operations Group.
