Handwara | September 09: Police on Wednesday said that Handwara Police, along with 21 RR and 92 Bn CRPF, busted a terror module operated by an ex-terrorist working in hybrid mode for the banned outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in the Handwara–Kupwara belt.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police that while acting on reliable inputs, a joint operation was launched in Handwara town, leading to the apprehension of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Sultan Bhat, a resident of Kruhmura Handwara. Security forces recovered a Chinese-made pistol, two magazines, and 16 rounds of pistol ammunition from his possession. Police in its statement further said that the arrested individual is a former terrorist who was previously apprehended in two separate cases. A case under FIR No. 232 has been registered at Police Station Handwara under relevant legal provisions, and further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the module and its network.
