Srinagar, Sep 07: Srinagar Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory in view of the 1st International Film Festival scheduled at SKICC today.
As per the advisory, a large number of participants, guests and invitees are expected to attend the event and a huge rush of vehicles is expected towards SKICC after 4 PM.
To avoid inconvenience to the general public, traffic restrictions have been put in place for today, Sep 07.
As per the advisory, no general traffic will be allowed on Gupkar Road from 4 PM to 7 PM. Only invitees, participants, VVIPs and staff associated with the event will be allowed to ply on Gupkar Road during this period.
At Badyari Chowk / Brein Chowk, traffic will not be allowed towards SKICC – Nehru Park except hotel guests and locals residing in the area. Rest of the traffic will be diverted towards Gupkar and Hazratbal for those heading to Nishat.
Similarly, traffic coming from Nishat / Harwan side will also be diverted towards Hazratbal. Nishat traffic will also be diverted via Rainawari from Badyari-Rainawari-Hazratbal-Nishat route.
The advisory will remain in force for three hours from 4 PM to 7 PM today till the inauguration function is completed.
Emergencies shall be allowed to take the shortest route. In case any assistance is required, citizens have been requested to contact Traffic Police Control Room on 103.
