Srinagar : Water supply was restored in Panzinara area of Srinagar following intervention by MLA Central Shalteng Tariq Hameed Karra, providing relief to residents who had faced an acute shortage for several days.

The issue came to light after residents circulated a video appeal highlighting the disruption in water supply. Taking cognisance of the matter, Karra raised the issue with the Chief Engineer, PHE Kashmir, following which the supply was restored within hours.

Residents welcomed the prompt intervention and thanked the MLA for taking up the matter with the concerned authorities.

Local resident Muhammad Yaseen Malik said the intervention provided relief to the affected population and noted that the MLA personally followed up the matter with officials.

Residents also acknowledged the efforts of Dr Waleed Karra, Incharge Central Shalteng Constituency, who coordinated with the XEN Master Plan for speedy restoration.

While the immediate crisis has been resolved, residents urged the administration to take permanent measures to prevent recurring disruptions in water supply.
