Srinagar, Sept 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has assigned the temporary charge of Director, Health Services Kashmir to Dr Nighat Yasmeen, according to an order issued by the Health and Medical Education Department on Monday.

As per Government Order No. 676-JK(HME) of 2026, Dr Yasmeen, presently serving as In-Charge Deputy Director, Headquarters (DHSK), will look after the charge of Director, Health Services Kashmir, in addition to her existing duties, until a suitable regular arrangement is made.

The government said the temporary arrangement has been made to ensure the smooth discharge of important administrative responsibilities and effective delivery of patient care.

The order further clarified that the assignment is purely temporary and shall be subject to the outcome of any writ petition(s), if pending before the courts of law.

It also stated that the temporary assignment would not confer any right upon the officer to claim preferential treatment in matters of seniority, regularisation or promotion, which would be considered strictly in accordance with the applicable rules.
