Budgam, Sep 04: An unidentified terrorist was killed during a joint search operation by security forces in Ashdar Gali area of Budgam district, Army officials said on Friday.
In a post on X, Chinar Corps of Indian Army wrote, “OP ASHDAR, Budgam: Based on specific intelligence input, a Joint Search Operation was launched by #IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPolice and @crpf_srinagar in general area Ashdar Gali, Budgam,” the post reads.
“It reads: Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and, upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire, during which one terrorist was neutralised and one AK rifle along with other war-like stores were recovered. Search operation is in progress,” it said.
