POONCH, SEPTEMBER 03: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the status of Aadhaar saturation across different age groups, operationalization of Aadhaar enrolment centres, Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) Campaign 2.0 and verification of applications for new Aadhaar enrolment.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the Aadhaar saturation status of the district and directed the concerned departments to take focused measures for ensuring the enrolment of the left-out population, particularly children in the 0–5 years age group.
As per the status reviewed, Aadhaar saturation in the district stood at 44.76 per cent in the 0–5 years age group, 138.88 per cent in the 5–18 years age group and 109.89 per cent in the 18 years and above category, with the overall Aadhaar generation exceeding the projected population figures.
DC stresses operationalization of all Aadhaar centres, reviewing the status of Functional Aadhaar Centres, it was informed that out of 115 deployed stations, 65 are functional while 50 stations are currently non-functional.
The DC directed the concerned departments, including School Education, ICDS, Health, CSC e-Governance, Department of Posts and JK Bank to take immediate steps for making all Aadhaar stations functional and ensuring uninterrupted enrolment and update services.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for deploying CELC operators at the Anganwadi level for enrolment of children in the 0–5 years age group.
He also stressed the need for birth registration-based Aadhaar enrolment of newborn babies at hospitals, timely issuance of Date of Birth certificates with QR code verification and organization of special Aadhaar enrolment camps at Tehsil, Block and Panchayat offices.
The meeting further decided that special Aadhaar camps would be organized in schools to cover the left-out population in the 5–18 years age group.
The School Education Department was directed to focus on the pending MBU cases and Aadhaar verification of students and submit completion reports. The DC also called for extensive awareness campaigns and directed the concerned authorities to encourage schoolchildren to keep their Aadhaar details updated.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the status of applications received through the State Verification Portal for 18+ new Aadhaar enrolment. Out of 614 applications received, 400 have been approved, 82 rejected and 32 remain pending.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed coordinated action among all concerned departments to ensure comprehensive Aadhaar coverage, timely biometric updates and prompt verification of new enrolment applications across District Poonch.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik, LDM, Sanjeev Rasotora, District Manager CSC e- Governance, Imtiaz Ahmed, DEPO, Neelam Sharma, State Project Manager were also attended the meeting through virtual mode and other concerned officers.
