Baramulla, September 3: The Inter-Zonal District-Level Football Competition for Under-14 Boys witnessed exciting action at HS Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla, with Zone Rohama, Zone Baramulla, Zone Dangiwacha and Zone Singpora Kalan qualifying for the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, thrilling action was witnessed in the Inter-Cluster District-Level Cricket Competition for Under-14 Boys at Sopore. Zone Dangiwacha defeated Zone Fatehgarh in the first semi-final, while Zone Nehalpora overcame Zone Wagoora in the second semi-final to book their places in the final.
The much-awaited final between Zone Dangiwacha and Zone Nehalpora is underway, with both teams vying for the championship title.
The competitions are being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Baramulla, under the overall supervision of Director General Youth Services & Sports, J&K, Smt. Anuradha Gupta, IAS, with the objective of providing young athletes a platform to showcase their talent and develop the values of discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Speaking on the sidelines, DYSSO Baramulla Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the young athletes and lauded the efforts of the field staff, officials and organising teams for ensuring the smooth conduct of the competitions. He said such events are instrumental in identifying and nurturing sporting talent at the grassroots level.
