Kupwara | Sep, 02: A 24-year-old youth was found hanging in a forest area in Darpora, Lolab, in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday. The deceased was later identified by authorities as Showkat Ahmad Peer, a local resident of Astanbuth, Darpora.
Officials said initial police probes suggest that the young man was mentally unsound and took his own life inside the forest area. Law enforcement authorities have taken formal cognizance of the incident, and further investigation is underway to establish the precise sequence of events.
