Ang : Police on Wednesday said that it has apprehended two drug peddlers at Mirgund near Rehmat Alam Masjid in Anantnag district.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that a police party from Police Station Anantnag intercepted two individuals identified as Uzair Ashraf Wani and Mujtaba Mehraj, both residents of Sarnal, Anantnag. Upon searching them, officers recovered charas from their possession. A case under FIR No. 291/2026 under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag, and an investigation has been set into motion. Reaffirming its commitment to eliminating drug abuse police in its statement appealed people to share any relevant information regarding drug peddling.
