Sopore : Police on Tuesday said that it has apprehended two drug peddlers during naka checking in the jurisdiction of Police Post Warpora and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said that during naka checking at Sangri Top, Watlab, two suspects were intercepted, adding therein that during their personal search, contraband substance was recovered from their possession. The said drug peddlers have been identified as Asif Ahmad Mir S/O Sanaullah Mir R/O Sangri Watlab and Shahbaz Ahmad Lone S/O Ghulam Nabi Lone R/O Watlab, Sopore. A case under FIR No. 215/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and sustained action against drug peddlers to safeguard youth and society from the menace of drugs.
