Awantipora : Police on Sunday said that it has confiscated five vehicles for being involved in illegal mining activities in Awantipora.
In a statement issued here on Sunday Police said that police parties from Police Post Aripal and Police Station Awantipora carried out targeted operations across different locations and seized four tractors and one tipper.
Police in its statement further said that a routine patrol by Police Post Aripal caught three tractors red-handed while extracting minerals illegally at Pastuna. Simultaneously, a team from Police Station Awantipora impounded a tractor and a tipper in a separate action. Police in its statement also warned strict stance against illegal mining and appealed people to report unlawful extractions immediately.
