Anantnag | Aug, 29: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and also recovered contraband from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that a party from Police Station Uttersoo a suspect during routine patrolling at Haji Mohalla Barariangan, Uttersoo, adding therein that the accused has been identified as Hamid Farooq Dar, son of Farooq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Brakpora, Anantnag. “During his personal search, Charas was recovered from his possession,” the statement reads further .
Police in its statement also said that a case under FIR No. 88/2026 has been registered at Police Station Uttersoo besides initiating further investigation, reiterating therein its commitment to combat drug menace and appealed people to extend full cooperation in making the district drug-free.
