Authorities take over possession of Evacuee Property at Malpur

Jammu :The Custodian, Evacuee Property Department, Jammu has taken possession of a double-storey house constructed illegally on Evacuee Property here at Malpur   by locking and sealing the premises in accordance with the procedure and rules in force.

The property, covered under Khasra No. 316, had reportedly been constructed and occupied unauthorisedly. According to reports submitted by the Tehsildar concerned, illegal and anti-social activities were allegedly being carried out from the premises, in connection with which an FIR had also been registered.

The action was initiated following grievances and representations received from residents of the locality. The Sub Divisional Magistrate concerned had also sought appropriate action in the matter in light of the grievances and representations received from the local residents.

Following the directions of Custodian Evacuee’s Property Jammu, a team led by the Deputy Custodian (HQ) Mansoor Ahmed Paul, along with the Tehsildar concerned and the Field Inspector concerned proceeded to the spot and took possession of the property by locking and sealing the same. The action was carried out with the support and assistance of the Police authorities.

The action was carried out under the guidance and overall supervision of the Custodian General, J&K Government, Tassaduq Hussain Mir. The department reiterated its commitment to protecting Evacuee Properties and ensuring that such properties are safeguarded and dealt with strictly in accordance with the applicable law and procedure.
