Baramulla : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. S.F. Hamid, accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner and officers of various line departments, Monday visited Hazrat Syed JanbazWali (RA) Shrine and Dargah-e-Aliya ShereKhaas, Baramulla, to review the arrangements being put in place ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), when a large number of devotees are expected to visit the shrines.
During the visit, the DC took a detailed assessment of the arrangements concerning sanitation, street lights, drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, road connectivity and other essential facilities required for the convenience of devotees.
The management committees apprised the DC of various requirements and highlighted the need for adequate fencing, streetlights and improved sanitation in and around the shrine premises, besides proper cleanliness along the approach roads.
Taking immediate note of the issues raised, the DC directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla to ensure immediate installation of streetlights at the identified locations. He also directed the Executive Officer, Municipal Council Baramulla, to ensure thorough sanitation and cleanliness in and around both shrines, including the roads and approach routes leading to the religious sites.
The DC further directed the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the shrines and along the routes used by devotees. He stressed that all essential services should remain functional throughout the period of the religious observance, particularly during evening and night hours.
At Hazrat Syed JanbazWali (RA) Shrine, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the ongoing works for upgradation of facilities and took stock of the progress being made. He enquired about the facilities being developed for devotees and sought details regarding the arrangements to be made during the ongoing construction process.
The concerned Executive Engineer, R&B Department, apprised the DC about the status of the ongoing works and informed him that necessary arrangements would be ensured to facilitate devotees and minimise inconvenience during their visit to the shrine.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to complete the required arrangements in a time-bound manner and maintain close coordination with the shrine management committees. He emphasized that special attention should be given to cleanliness, sanitation, drinking water, power supply, accessibility and the overall movement of devotees.
The DC also stressed the importance of ensuring that the approach roads and areas surrounding the shrines remain clean, well-lit and accessible, particularly in view of the expected footfall during the occasion.
The DC called for coordinated and proactive efforts by all concerned departments to ensure that devotees are provided with a safe, clean and comfortable environment and that the observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) is facilitated smoothly and peacefully.
