3 persons held with Grenades, HM posters in Shopian

Shopian :Security forces apprehended three suspected over-ground workers (OGWs) during a naka checking operation in the Padpawan area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday evening, officials said.
A joint checkpoint was established in the area by the Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operations Group (SOG) Shopian and 14th Battalion of the CRPF as part of security checks.
During the operation, security personnel intercepted a motorcycle carrying three persons and subjected them to questioning and search.
Officials said grenades, posters and other material allegedly linked to the banned terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen were recovered during the search.
The three individuals, all reportedly residents of Kulgam district, were taken into custody for questioning to ascertain their alleged links and the purpose of carrying the recovered material.
Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the recovery and determine whether the suspects had any links with terrorist networks, officials said.
