JMC ensures timely redressal of water logging amidst heavy rainfall
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegramEmail

Jammu : In response to early morning heavy rainfall across Jammu city today, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) promptly mobilised men and machinery, including Quick Response Teams (QRTs), to address waterlogging in several affected areas.

Areas including Rajinder Nagar, Muthi, PattaBohri, Lakhdata Bazar and Bantalab witnessed water accumulation due to intense rainfall. In Rajinder Nagar and PattaBohri, where Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) works are in progress, temporary storage of construction material contributed to waterlogging. Upon receiving public complaints, JMC teams cleared the accumulation within one hour, restoring normal conditions. These nallah construction works under floods SSASCI will be completed in the coming few months, providing a permanent solution to drainage issues.

Near Pawan Ice Cream, JMC teams coordinated with NHIDCL officials to remove construction material blocking a side drain. Through joint efforts, workers cleared the obstruction and conducted dewatering operations to resolve the issue swiftly.

JMC remains committed to ensuring public convenience and safety while closely monitoring vulnerable locations during the ongoing monsoon. Citizens can report civic issues for immediate action on Helpline 1800 180 7207.
