Ganderbal, Aug 24: Amid risks associated with bathing and swimming in Nallah Sindh and other water bodies across the district, the Ganderbal administration on Monday issued a public advisory urging residents, particularly parents and guardians, to exercise utmost caution and remain vigilant.
The advisory, issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, called upon parents and guardians to strictly prevent children from entering or bathing in Nallah Sindh and other water bodies.
The administration advised parents to keep children under close supervision, particularly during holidays and leisure hours, and educate them about the dangers posed by deep, fast-flowing and unpredictable waters.
It also urged families to discourage children from swimming or bathing at unprotected and unsafe locations and ensure that minors do not go near water bodies without responsible adult supervision.
The advisory was issued on August 24 by the District Magistrate Ganderbal, with copies forwarded to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, Tehsildars and other concerned authorities for information and necessary action.
The administration appealed to the public to strictly follow the safety guidelines and help prevent accidents around Nallah Sindh and other water bodies in the district.
