Youth had gone missing while bathing near Kijpara in Kangan; search operation launched by police and locals
Ganderbal, Aug 22: The body of an 18-year-old youth from Srinagar, who was feared drowned in Nallah Sindh in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, was recovered on Saturday after a two-day search operation, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Danish Bilal, son of Bilal Ahmad Hajam, a resident of Hafiz Bagh, Dargah, Srinagar.
According to preliminary reports, Danish had gone to Nallah Sindh near the dumping park at Kijpara on Friday to take a bath. He reportedly went missing after entering the water.
Soon after the incident, Kangan Police, along with local residents, launched a search operation to trace him. The operation continued through Friday and into Saturday.
After sustained search efforts, the body of the youth was recovered from Nallah Sindh on Saturday, officials said.
