DLSA Srinagar Mobilizes Paralegal Volunteers to Boost Welfare Schemes, Combat Drug Abuse

Srinagar : Under the guidance of Chairman DLSA Srinagar, Mr. Haq Nawaz Zargar (PDJ), the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar hosted a dynamic one-day training session for Paralegal Volunteers (PLVs).

The program aimed to supercharge Phase I of the Mega Drive for Grassroots NALSA Scheme Implementation alongside the crucial DAWN Scheme. Presided over by the Secretary, DLSA Srinagar, alongside the Block Development Officer (BDO) for Khonmoh/Harwan, the session sensitized volunteers on their indispensable role in taking legal aid directly to vulnerable and marginalized communities. Emphasizing proactive outreach, the Secretary urged PLVs to identify eligible beneficiaries, broadcast available legal services, and bridge the gap to justice across the district.

Reinforcing community collaboration, the BDO Khonmoh/Harwan—a key member of the DAWN Committee—highlighted the critical synergy needed between local administration and legal aid authorities. He urged PLVs to stand at the frontlines against the drug menace, leveraging their ground-level presence to champion anti-addiction efforts and welfare initiatives. The intensive training concluded with clear mandates for the volunteers: execute aggressive grassroots outreach and guarantee that the benefits of key NALSA schemes land directly in the hands of those who need them most.
