Srinagar : Director Agriculture Kashmir Sartaj Ahmad Shah flagged off a consignment of exotic King Oyster mushrooms produced by Shally Farm, Zakura, Srinagar, as part of efforts to promote direct farmer-to-consumer marketing.
The Director highlighted the potential of innovative mushroom cultivation to generate better returns for growers and encouraged entrepreneurs to explore value-added mushroom production.
Joint Director Mushrooms Madan Gopal Singh briefed the Director about departmental initiatives to promote different varieties of mushrooms and provide technical guidance to growers.
The Agriculture Department urged aspiring entrepreneurs and farmers interested in mushroom cultivation to seek technical guidance and support from the concerned office.
