Jammu: Security forces on Tuesday launched search operations at several locations in Udhampur and Reasi districts following reports of suspicious movement.
Quoting sources a local news gathering agency reported that joint teams of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in Talot village of Udhampur after receiving information about the suspected movement of some persons in the area last night.
Meanwhile, security forces also conducted a search operation in the Sadini forests of Pouni in Reasi district following reports of suspicious movement. “The operations were launched as a precautionary measure to verify the inputs and ensure the safety and security of the local population. Security personnel are maintaining a close vigil and thoroughly checking vulnerable areas,” said an official.
The forces have intensified surveillance in the areas and are continuing the searches to rule out any suspicious presence, he added.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma said: “Security forces are acting promptly on the inputs received from villagers and are maintaining a close vigil to ensure public safety. The operation is continuing.”
Further details will emerge as the search operations progress, officials said
