B’pora : District Administration Bandipora, alongside Municipal Council Bandipora, organized a Composting Exhibition Monday under the Swachhta 50-50 initiative, officials said. Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib announced that from September 1, 2026, local bodies will stop collecting household wet waste, shifting responsibility to household-level management. DC Chib stated that 930 teams covering 39,000 households have already been deployed to drive source segregation, user fee compliance, and home composting using QR-code tracking. Experts demonstrated the Aerobin system and alternative organic waste techniques.
