Srinagar : The University of Kashmir on Saturday commemorated the 80th Independence Day with significant enthusiasm across its Main and satellite campuses.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nilofer Khan hoisted the National Flag at the Main Campus which was followed by the National Song and Anthem, along with a ceremonial guard of honour provided by the University Police. In her address, Prof. Khan paid homage to freedom fighters and emphasized the importance of unity, democratic values, and equal opportunities for all. She encouraged students and scholars to engage in nation-building through knowledge, hard work, integrity, and social responsibility. Additionally, members of the Proctorial Wing, KU Guards, and Watch & Ward staff were recognized for their dedicated service with certificates. Celebrations also took place at the Anantnag, Baramulla, and Kupwara campuses, showcasing enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff, and students.
