Doda : Doda celebrated the 80th Independence Day at Sports Stadium with patriotic fervour, with Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal taking the salute at the ceremonial parade.
The parade featured CRPF, SSB, J&K Police, JKAP, PPF, NCC and school contingents. Students also presented patriotic and cultural performances.
Highlighting development, the DC said 153 smart classrooms and 46 additional classrooms were created during 2025-26. He also highlighted progress in agriculture, Mission YUVA, social welfare, tourism and rural employment.
He said over 4,000 Mission YUVA applications had been approved and more than 47,600 beneficiaries were receiving social welfare pensions. Tourism projects worth over ₹21.50 crore are also underway. Similar celebrations were held at Bhaderwah and Thathri
