Srinagar, Aug 15: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday proudly hoisted the National Flag at Lok Bhavan on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day and paid heartfelt tributes to the nation’s founding fathers, freedom fighters, and all those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor also expressed condolences to civilians who lost their lives in unfortunate natural calamities this year, paying homage to their memory.
Extending his greetings, Sinha conveyed his sincere wishes to the jawans of the Armed Forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other security agencies. He said the nation owes a deep sense of gratitude to the courageous soldiers and police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice while defending India’s unity and combating terrorism.
The Lieutenant Governor urged citizens to work together towards fulfilling the aspirations of the martyrs by building a peaceful, prosperous Jammu and Kashmir and contributing to the progress of the nation.
“Let us strive to realize their cherished dreams of building a peaceful, prosperous Jammu Kashmir and a great nation,” Sinha said in his post on X.
