Poonch: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, Friday met a number of delegations and public representatives at Surankote and Poonch who apprised him of various development-related issues pertaining to their respective areas.
The visiting delegations raised a range of issues concerning the availability and improvement of essential public services, development of infrastructure and expediting ongoing works. They also brought to the Minister’s attention the urgent need for restoration of public services and infrastructure damaged due to the recent flash floods and landslides.
The delegations sought intervention of the government for restoration of damaged roads, water supply schemes and other essential infrastructure.
Giving a patient hearing to the delegations, Javed Rana assured them that their genuine concerns are taken up with the concerned departments for appropriate action. He directed the officers to ensure close coordination and timely follow-up so that the issues raised by the people are resolved without unnecessary delay.
The Minister said that resolution of people’s issues remains a priority of the government, adding that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure prompt redress of public grievances and restoration of essential services affected by the recent natural calamities.
Javed Rana assured the delegations that their concerns would be followed up with the concerned agencies for swift and effective resolution.
