Ganderbal, Aug 14: The Srinagar-Leh Highway was reopened for traffic after a cloudburst at Ranga Morh near Zojila triggered disruption along the vital route, officials said.
The Border Roads Organisation’s (BRO) 122 RCC immediately launched restoration and clearance operations following the incident. The affected stretch was cleared and traffic movement restored within nearly five hours.
The prompt action by the BRO team ensured the early restoration of the strategic highway, maintaining vital connectivity between Kashmir and Ladakh.
The successful restoration also helped minimise disruption to commuters and travellers using the Srinagar-Leh route.
