Full dress rehearsal held at MA Stadium: Div Comm Jammu hoists Tricolour, takes salute at March Past

Jammu : The full-dress rehearsal of the Independence Day Celebrations- 2026 conducted Thursday  here at MA Stadium.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar hoisted the National Flag and took the salute from marching contingents during the rehearsal. In his address, the Divisional Commissioner congratulated the participants and urged them to uphold the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation. He encouraged them to imbibe the spirit of patriotism and selfless service in their daily lives. He further appealed to the citizens to participate enthusiastically in the Independence Day celebrations and reaffirm their commitment towards nation-building, while paying homage to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices made the nation’s independence possible. Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr Rakesh Minhas, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh and other senior sectoral officers were present on the occasion. The full dress rehearsal began with the recitation of the National Song, followed by flag hoisting, singing of the National Anthem, inspection of the parade, the chief guest’s address and the full-dress march past. The parade, comprising contingents of BSF, CRPF, SSB, 15 JKAP IR Bn (Female), 18 JKAP IR Bn (Male), District Police Jammu, JKAP-8th Bn, SDRF 2nd Battalion, Fire & Emergency Services and Forest Protection Force was led by Parade Commander Surinder Kumar Choudhary, SP of 14 JKAP IR Bn and Deputy Parade Commander Mohammad Shafiq, SP of 2 JKAP IR Bn. Sixteen student contingents from government and private schools, including those from Sainik School Nagrota, besides NCC Boys and Girls, BSF Brass Band, J&K Armed Police Pipe Band and school band troops from five institutions also took part in the march past. All arrangements were reviewed threadbare to ensure smooth conduct of the main Independence Day function on August 15.
