Reasi : Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek on Thursday visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Seri Tanda, and reviewed its activities aimed at supporting farmers and rural communities.
KVK Head Dr Banarsi Lal briefed the DC on farmer training, value addition of agricultural produce and initiatives to promote improved farming practices and income-generating activities.
The DC stressed promotion of lemongrass cultivation in areas affected by monkey menace and directed the KVK to strengthen practical, field-oriented training. He also asked the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer to promote poultry units and encourage farmers and youth to take up poultry farming.
