Leh, Aug 13 :Two earthquakes struck the Leh region of Ladakh within a span of nearly four hours on Thursday, according to seismic data.
The first earthquake, measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale, occurred at 06:05:15 IST. The tremor was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre located at 36.881°N latitude and 74.402°E longitude in the Leh region.
Later, at 09:54:12 IST, another earthquake of magnitude 4.3 struck the same region. The second tremor also occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre located at 36.765°N latitude and 75.326°E longitude.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property. Authorities are monitoring the situation, while further details are awaited.
