Srinagar: Security has been massively upgraded across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day celebrations, with police, the Indian Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) launching intensive vehicle checks, frisking, area domination, and search operations.
Reports said that A multi-layered security grid is now active across all districts, focusing heavily on sensitive zones, key entry points, district headquarters, and event venues. Official sources confirmed that “Security personnel are maintaining heightened vigil to prevent any attempt to disrupt the celebrations,” adding that “Security forces have also intensified area domination and patrolling, while search operations and sanitisation exercises are being carried out in vulnerable areas.” Drones and sniffer dogs are actively deployed for anti-sabotage operations, while “Roadside checkpoints have been strengthened at strategic locations, with security personnel conducting random as well as targeted checks of vehicles and individuals to detect any suspicious movement.” Heightened vigil and tight coordination also remain active along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB).
