Chhari Mubarak Rituals Begin as Amarnath Yatra Enters Final Phase

Holy Mace Taken to Shankaracharya Temple Ahead of August 22 Cave Shrine Journey
Srinagar :The final phase of the annual Amarnath Yatra officially commenced on Wednesday as the sacred Chhari Mubarak—the holy mace of Lord Shiva led by custodian Mahant Deependra Giri—was taken to the historic Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar for special prayers, Vedic chanting, and ceremonial conch blowing.
Reports said that traditional pilgrimage will proceed to the Sharika Bhawani Temple on Hari Parbat on August 13, followed by the Chhari-Sthapana at Dashnami Akhara’s Amareshwar Temple on August 15 and Chhari-Pujan on Nag Panchami (August 17). The primary foot journey from Srinagar to the Amarnath cave shrine will start on August 22, featuring traditional night halts at Pahalgam, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, and Panchtarni before culminating in final prayers and darshan on Shravan Purnima, August 28.
