Jammu :  Minister for Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, SakeenaItooMonday met scores of public delegations and individuals from different parts of Jammu division at Civil Secretariat here and took detailed note of their concerns and developmental issues.

The delegations and individuals from different areas of Jammu division, brought forth a wide range of issues pertaining to healthcare, education, social welfare, public infrastructure, roads, power supply, water supply and other matters concerning public welfare before the Minister and sought their timely redressal.

Giving a patient hearing to the visiting delegations, the Minister interacted with the representatives and individuals in detail and sought feedback on the implementation of various government schemes and services at the grassroots level. She assured them that their genuine issues would be examined on priority  for appropriate resolution.

The  Minister highlighted that regular interaction with the public is an important component of responsive governance and Government remains committed to ensuring that the concerns of people are heard, acknowledged and addressed through a time-bound mechanism.

“The Government belongs to the people and our foremost responsibility is to remain accessible to them.  We will continue to strengthen mechanisms that ensure people get timely response and delivery of services”, the Minister said.

She emphasized that governance cannot be effective unless it remains connected with the aspirations and day-to-day concerns of the people.

The Minister also directed the concerned officers  to examine the issues raised by the delegations and individuals and ensure necessary follow-up action within the prescribed timelines. She stressed upon officers to maintain close coordination with the public and ensure that eligible beneficiaries do not face unnecessary difficulties in accessing Government schemes and services.

“Government’s focus is on translating policy decisions and welfare programmes into tangible outcomes for citizens, particularly for vulnerable sections and people living in remote and underserved areas”, she maintained.

She also urged public representatives and citizens to continue providing constructive feedback to the Government, saying that sustained public participation is vital for building an efficient, responsive and accountable administration.
